Scar revision

What is Scar Revision?

Scar revision with paramedical tattooing is an advanced technique that focuses on the appearance of scars without using pigments or color. Instead, this inkless method uses specialized tattooing techniques to apply  medical grade formulated serum—often containing ingredients like vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and other healing agents—into the scar tissue. This approach promotes skin regeneration and boosts collagen production, helping to soften, flatten, and lighten the scar for a more natural appearance.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Inkless Tattooing: Instead of depositing pigment, the tattoo needle implants a   serum into the skin. This process is like microneedling, where tiny  needles create controlled micro-injuries in the scar tissue. However, the  added serum provides nutrients directly to the skin, promoting cellular   repair and healing.
  2. Scar Improvement: Over time, the serum’s active ingredients aid in reducing  scar thickness, discoloration, and textural irregularities. Collagen      stimulation encourages the skin to become more supple and soft, blending  the scar with the surrounding tissue naturally.

  • Scars must be at least 7 months old with no signs of infection & irritation
  • 2-4 sessions recommended; The process typically requires multiple sessions for optimal results, as skin regeneration occurs gradually.
  • Healing time 4-7 weeks

Common Treatment

Inkless treatment with paramedical tattooing can be beneficial for various types of scars, as long as they are mature (fully healed) and stable.

  1. Hypertrophic  Scars: These scars are raised and typically confined to the area of  the original wound. Inkless treatments can help reduce their thickness and soften the tissue, making them less noticeable.
  2. Atrophic  Scars: These are depressed scars, such as those left by acne or  chickenpox. Inkless tattooing can stimulate collagen production to help  fill in and smooth the indentation.
  3. Surgical  Scars: Scars from surgeries (like C-sections, joint surgeries, or cosmetic procedures) can often be improved with inkless treatment, as it      helps to blend the scar tissue with the surrounding skin.
